Appalachian Ski Mountain
Located only 6 miles from Boone NC, home of the 3 time Championship Appalachian State Mountaineers, Appalachian Ski Mountain provides both convenience and a top notch NC ski resort. The resort features 10 slopes and 2 terrain parks. Appalachian Ski Mountain has a peak elevation of 4,000 feet and a vertical drop of 365 feet. Beginners to Appalachian Ski Mountain will enjoy 2 slopes to choose from: Appaltizer and Candied Appal. There are 3 intermediate slopes, Strudel, Orchard Run, and Lower Big Appal. For the experts, you’ll get a thrill out of Upper Big Appal, Hard Core and Thin Slice. All slopes are also fully lit for night skiing. This fantastic NC Mountain ski resort features not one, but two amazing terrain parks for snowboarders. With 13 rails, 8 boxes and a 20 foot wall ride, snowboarders are in for a treat when they hit the Appaljack & Appal Jam terrain parks.
For a more relaxing outing, take advantage of the 6,000 square foot ice skating rink. After a day on the slopes, grab a bite to eat at the restaurant, check out the gift shop or just kick back on the 200 foot observation deck and watch skiers making there way down the slopes.
