Please read the policies and procedures page carefully. The person renting the cabin and signing the paperwork will be responsible for all persons in the party and any damages.

  • General Rental Info: All properties are individually owned and are furnished with individual taste. Do not move the furniture around in the units, it could cause damage. Upon arrival please notify us within 1 hour or by 10 AM the next morning if checking in late if there are any problems with your accommodations. If a vacation residence should become unavailable for rental for any reason, we reserve the right to substitute comparable accommodations if available. No Refunds due to mechanical malfunction.
  • Occupancy & Age: If you exceed the maximum occupancy, you will be asked to leave. You must be at least 24 years old to reserve a rental property. You must provide us with the number of people & vehicles in your party. We only rent to responsible adults and no house parties will be permitted. You will be asked to leave with NO REFUND and charges will be charged to your credit card to cover damages !
  • Check in/Check out: Check in is at 4 PM or after. Check out is at 11 AM. Early check in and out is available at an additional charge but must be arranged in advance. Lockboxes are located at cabins for late check in.
  • Pets: Pets are allowed at many of our rentals. The pet fee is 30.00 per pet and is non refundable. Some of our owners are allergic to pets, bringing pets to units that are not pet friendly or failing to pay a pet fee will result in a $30 pet fee plus a $100 pet cleaning fee being charged to your credit card.
  • Reservation: Return this document and the signed vacation rental agreement with a 50% advance rental amount, plus insurance and reservation fee as noted to hold your rental. Payment and rental agreement must be received within 2 days. The balance is due 15 days prior to your arrival and will be automatically debited. Failure to return the rental agreement and/or make a payment within 2 business days will result in cancellation of your rental. Reservations made for less than 7 days out are due at booking (no exceptions).
  • Payments: Checks accepted 30 days prior to check-in. We accept MasterCard or Visa.
  • Security Deposits: A security deposit waiver is available to you at a cost of $45 and covers unintentional damage to the cabin up to $1500. If you choose not to accept the waiver, a $200 security deposit will be charged and must be paid no later than 30 days prior to check in. Ashe Cabin Fever reserves the right to charge the tenants security deposit for any intentional damage (i.e. moving furniture, smoking or other intentional damage) or cleaning charges due even if the waiver is purchased.
  • Cancellation Policy: Our policy is spelled out very clearly on the Vacation Rental Agreement. Upon written notice of cancellation from tenant, advance rent payments will be refunded if unit is re-rented less a $50 cancellation fee and the $20 reservation fee. If the unit is not re-rented, No refund will be issued. (Trip Interruption Insurance is suggested on all rentals.
  • Smoking: Smoking is not allowed in any rental property. If you smoke, please go outside and close the door. Do not throw butts over the deck onto the ground. Failure to comply with this policy will result in loss of security deposit.
  • Housekeeping: The cleaning fee is optional but should you choose not to pay the cleaning and laundry fee, you will be expected to leave the home in check in condition, including but not limited to sanitizing bathrooms, mopping floors, washing & folding linens, cleaning kitchen and leaving appliances, stove, microwave, etc… clean and ready for the next guest. All units are inspected after each stay and the unit must be left in check in condition by the inspector’s standards to avoid being charged a cleaning fee. Housekeeping arrangements must be made in advance to avoid additional charges.
  • Trash: Trash must be dropped off at one of the local convenience centers. If you are leaving on Sunday, Christmas or Thanksgiving, you may leave one bag of trash in the kitchen area. Do not leave trash bagged outside the local wildlife is very adept at breaking into trash cans. Failure to comply will result in your security deposit being charged.
  • Fireplaces: The housekeeping staff will remove ashes from fireplaces. Please do not build a fire the morning you are departing. Make sure all fires are extinguished before you leave or go to bed at night and that the damper is closed. With gas log fireplaces, DO NOT TURN OFF PILOT LIGHT!
  • Weather: If you are vacationing in the High Country during the winter months, please come prepared to drive in snow and/or ice to reach your destination. We do recommend chains or 4 wheel drive, as most of our homes are on secondary roads. We are unable to refund rental fees due to inclement weather. (Travel insurance is recommended)
  • Furnishings & Equipment: All properties are furnished with the basic supplies, glasses, dishes, pots / pans, silverware and appliances. You will need to bring all your paper products, trash bags, laundry detergent and dish soap. Do not forget to bring a flashlight and your directions page. The direction page will be emailed to you approximately 5 days before your scheduled arrival. It will contain directions, lockbox code and emergency contact numbers.
  • Appliances & Equipment: We cannot guarantee that breakdowns (hot tub, TV, DVD, etc…) will not occur, however we will make every effort to ensure repairs will be made as quickly as possible. NO REFUNDS or discounts due to malfunctions!!!! Do not adjust the refrigerator settings, it takes a little time to cool down after placing warm items in it. Please do not flush sanitary napkins or tampons down the toilet.
  • Grilling: Please do not leave hot grills unattended.
  • Smoke Detector: These are installed for your protection. Please notify us upon arrival of any problems.
  • Lost Keys: $ 10.00 fee will be charged for lost keys.
  • Lost, stolen or forgotten items: Ashe Cabin Fever is not responsible for lost, stolen or forgotten items. Please check the cabin carefully before departing.
  • Taxes & Fees: All rentals are subject to a reservation fee, 6.75% sales tax and 3% occupancy tax.
  • Emergency Contact: Please call within 1 hour of arrival or by 10 am the next morning if arriving late to report any problems with the cabin. Please limit non-emergency calls to 10 AM to 5 PM at the same number.
